Five glass jars containing whole star anise, cinnamon, Sichuan pepper, cloves, and fennel seeds for Chinese five-spice. Each jar has been upcycled with a handmade plaster lid cast into the image of the spice it contains. Due to the casting process, in which actual spices are used, every lid is unique.

The indents on each lid denote the weight ratio of the spice to be used in five-spice (for example, seven indents indicate seven parts by weight).
Also provided is an informational booklet describing the history of Chinese five-spice and the properties of its components.
