A clash of design and engineering, Floating Compression utilises key structural principles, and a minimalist design philosophy to engineer the seemingly impossible. Drawing inspiration from brutalist architecture, this stand exploits the strength of the bespoke, 3D printed MJF PA-12 to defy gravity, capable of supporting many times its own weight. The concept of Tensegrity exemplifies the principles of superior engineering – precision; strength; functionality; integrity; ingenuity. A constant reminder of all things engineering, this tensegrity plinth is an elegant inspiration to design the impossible and to push the limits of physics.
