“Crumple” is a functional and stylish, lovingly handcrafted pair of chopsticks with an integrated rest and holder that comes in 4 striking colours. The idea was born from childhood memories of scrunching up disposable chopstick wrappers to create my own chopstick rest during family meals. The shape was modelled after this crumpled up wrapper; turning what was once a piece of rubbish into an ornamental table item to cherish forever.
 
The rests were created using Multi Jet Fusion 3D Printing and the sticks were hand carved from a piece of walnut. The chopsticks were then finished with pure tung oil, which is a naturally food safe oil that brings out the beautiful warm tones and grain of the hardwood, leaving a satin sheen. “Crumple” is a product of two worlds, blending the latest rapid manufacturing technology with the most ancient handmaking techniques to create something that is truly unique.
